October's Officer's meeting
11/27/09 05:17 PM by Amyran.

Well it's a little late, but I'm finally getting around to posting the minutes from October's officer's meeting.

Because the actual minutes are lengthy, i will post a summary of decisions only.

As of now, the nine notes below should be considered as guild policy. Ideally, this information would be posted on a new members page. Since we don't have such a page, this will serve as a notice for the time being.

1. Officer meetings will be held every month from October forward. They will occur near the end of the month.

2. We will schedule a raid at least every other week.

3. The process for adding yourself to a raid will be via the website calander. Those signed up on the website will be given priority over those who only sign up on the in-game calander.

4. The process for joining guild heroic runs, if there are more than five online who wish to participate, will be to roll for available spots. Only in the circumstance of having a single player online who can fill a required spot in the party shall there be an exception (example : healer, tank). There should be no favoritism shown in this process.

5. If you sign up for a raid, you are expected to be there. Do not sign up for a raid if you are unsure you can commit at least three hours. On the same note, do not /roll for heroics if you are unsure you can commit to them. Do not sign up for a raid if you are not eligible for the raid as per your gearscore. We recognize that gearscore may not be the best way to rate a player, but because to does offer a standard for comparison, we shall use it until a better system is in place. Feel free to sign up for any raid, even if you do not need the gear. We ask that players please show additional consideration towards those who need the gear or emblems, but the website raid signup will represent the final roster for a raid or event.

The following should be observed as our code of conduct

1. Respect other guild members, even if you don't personally like them. Do not cause drama in either guild chat, or general chat. Our members should not do anything that makes WOW less enjoyable for any other players. This applies to voice chat in Ventrilo as well as in game chat. Always be aware that The World of Warcraft is a game, and other players are here to have fun, just like you are.

2. If you have a problem with a guild member and you can’t deal with it cordially yourself, talk to the guild leader. The guild leader will speak to other members on your behalf. Please remember, we will likely kick anyone who is seen to be causing repeated unwarranted drama.

3. Please restrict the use of colorful language in guild chat. Swearing does not impress anyone, and is not considered mature behaviour. Please to not swear over voice-chat, some members may have children present. We recognize that sometimes this happens by accident, but we will call out those members who are seen as having trouble controling their language.

4. Members will get one warning before they are disciplined. Discipline will come in the form of demotion, or being kicked from the guild. Officers will discuss discipline before it is given. Officers will not discuss discipline until at least half of the officers are present during the discussion. The guild leaders are the only members who can kick a player from the guild without discussion. Guild leaders will consider officer decisions and discussions, or lack thereof, at all times.

5. Unless other arrangements are made, inactive members will be demoted to "inactive" after 90 days, and be kicked from the guild after one year. If ranked inactive for six months, members wishing to move out of the inactive rank will only receive a promotion to the lowest regular guild rank. This formula is subject to future changes.

Next meeting is on Nov 27th. Minutes will be posted in December.
